Day 2 LA Event

The team with Dr Jones at USC

I had really not been too excited to get up early this morning – especially when it was the first time that I’ve slept in a bed in a week - to pick up our speaker, but it turned out really well. Ashley and I hit almost no traffic on the way out to the airport and we didn’t get lost.

Eveleen Jones has a really interesting background and I thought she gave a good rallying talk at USC. She also didn’t care when we missed the same Freeway entrance four times on our trip back to the airport. We had a little less luck with the traffic and the Garmin in the afternoon. We took Dr. Jones to breakfast in Hollywood, so I got to see the sign and a couple of blocks of Sunset Blvd.

Seth won the half bagel award today, for being a good rider that looks out for others.

NBC in LA did a couple of spots on the ride today. And as we rode through LA people would call out that they saw us on the news.
We hung out with our host family a while this evening – they gave us dinner and we watched the second half of the basketball game. They’ve been great. Their kids go to Loyola High School – I plugged JVI.

I’m going to go enjoy this bed before our 90 mile uphill climb tomorrow (and before the internet cuts out again.)
